Exposing America By Huck Finn

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn opens up with a disclaimer for the lector which includes the statement That brave out was made by Mr. Mark coupling, and he told the truth, mainly. An example of lying is presented right at the beginning, after Tom and Huck play a fraud on Jim who lies t o all the other slaves about how his hat got taken of his head and put on a tree sleeve above him while sleeping. He describes an encounter with some manikin of spirits visiting him which gives him notoriety status among the slaves. When questioned by skeptics, Jim would still when reply with the question Hm! He goes through a great deal of inconvenience to make sure that people believe that he is dead, and it is not until the end of the novel that it becomes known to the people of his home town that he is actually alive.
